17. The "man" in question is Carl Karcher of the \bCarlÆs Jr.\b fast food restaurants, virtually unknown outside the west coast. The "go for the food" slogan vanished as suddenly as the Happy Star character.
18. A reference to one of our favourite non-anime works. The extra "go" was unintentional.
19. This is the only line spoken by Laura Fedick as Maki.
20. Yen-Zero is named after Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star) due to obvious similarities. The "Happy Star" here is another CarlÆs Jr. reference, as are the menu items. The "tater tot-tot-tot" attack is a parody of KenÆs "ya-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta" attack.
21. Here begins the "Jesus joke" subplot, wherein Biglips uses his communicator to project his voice to his unsuspecting victims, masquerading as Christ. The joke was originally from \bReal Genius,\b one of my favourite live-action movies. LitaÆs line "It really IS God" is rarely heard at public screenings, due to the laughter from the previous line.
